Time for Handwriting Book 6 (Modern Cursive Style) is designed to help the teacher and student treat handwriting in the classroom. Stages and sequences for the teaching of handwriting have been set out in this copy book along with a variety of strategies and a Program of Achievement and Lesson Register. The student is encouraged to practise joins, fluencies and speed loops. Handwriting is practised in the context of words, stories and writing exercises. All lessons require two or three copies of the texts or activities. Speed loops are introduced to help the student write more quickly yet still follow the conventions and practices of good handwriting. At the completion of each lesson the student is encouraged to self evaluate while the teacher has an Outcomes Checklist to assist with monitoring the development of handwriting skills.
